About this collection
Each deck starts with a few rule cards, then exercises that make you produce the right form: replace a noun with a pronoun, put a sentence in the imparfait or the future, choose between two tenses. The back of every exercise shows the full corrected sentence.
The order follows the usual A2 path: object pronouns and « y » and « en » first, then the past tenses, the future, the conditional and « si », and finally comparisons, relative pronouns, negation and linking words. Flashcards Master introduces new cards in deck order, so each rule comes before its exercises.
We built the list from the key contents inventory of Eaquals and France Éducation international, checked against several A2 programmes. Points that most sources place at B1 are left out: « dont », double pronouns, participle agreement with « avoir », « si » + imparfait, the plus-que-parfait and the subjunctive. Every card was reviewed by a native French speaker. Flashcards Master is not affiliated with France Éducation international, which runs the DELF.
These decks assume the A1 grammar: the present tense, negation, questions, the near future and the basic passé composé. If those are still shaky, start with the French A1 Grammar collection.
The vocabulary of this level is in the French A2 Vocabulary collection.

Questions
What grammar do you need for French A2?
At A2 you add the tools to talk about the past, the future and your plans: object pronouns, « y » and « en », the imparfait and when to use it instead of the passé composé, the futur simple, the polite conditional, « si » + present, comparisons, « qui », « que » and « où », and linking words like « parce que », « donc » and « mais ».
Is the subjunctive A2?
No. Most programmes introduce the subjunctive at B1, so it is not in these decks, and neither are « dont », double pronouns or « si » + imparfait.
Do the cards have English translations?
Yes. Every exercise gives the English meaning, either in the question or under the answer, and the rule cards translate their examples, word lists and participles.
Is there a printable PDF?
Yes. Every deck page has a printable PDF worksheet with the rules, the exercises and the answer key at the end, and the link at the top of this page downloads the whole collection in one file.
Are the decks free?
Yes. Adding a deck is free, and the free version of Flashcards Master lets you review up to 100 cards a day.
