Good to know

• No article before a job: « Je suis professeur », not « je suis un professeur ».
• « Le collège » is a middle school for 11 to 15 year olds, not a college. University is « l'université » or « la fac » in everyday speech.
• Many jobs have a feminine form: « le boulanger », « la boulangère ». Today France also says « la professeure » and « l'ingénieure ».
