Good to know

• Words ending in -al or -eau take -aux or -eaux in the plural: « un animal », « des animaux » ; « un oiseau », « des oiseaux ».
• « La poule » is the live hen, « le poulet » is usually the chicken you eat.
• French says « à la mer », « à la montagne » and « à la campagne » for the seaside, the mountains and the countryside.
