Good to know
- « La carte » lists all the dishes. « Le menu » can mean the same thing, but in a restaurant it often means a set meal at a fixed price.
- « L'entrée » is the starter, not the main course as in the US.
- Order « un café » in France and you get an espresso.
- To call the waiter, say « S'il vous plaît ! » (excuse me!). « Garçon ! » sounds old-fashioned and rude.
